Faye Ballance – Senior Pastor
Heritage. Something that is passed down from preceding generations; a tradition.
I was born and raised in Avon, North Carolina and came to Dover with my husband Linwood, and my children Greg and Diana in 1968. I graduated from Delaware State College with a teaching degree and worked as a teacher at Central Middle School for many years. God has blessed me with 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
In August of 1978, a small group of people met together to form a church which is now known as The Liberty Church.
It is my joy to extend the love, and fellowship of Jesus Christ to all who enter our doors.
I am blessed to be the pastor of Liberty Church.
May God bless you.

The Bible describes in Chapter 4 of Ephesians the Lord’s plan for bringing His body, the Church, into a mature likeness of Jesus. It says in Ephesians 4:8 that “…He (Jesus) led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men”. Verse 11 explains who these gifts are. These are people who were once lost without God and “captive” to the enemy but have been set free by Jesus Christ and called to minister to His Church.
Though I was a teenager in a loving family that was faithful to attend Catholic mass regularly, I was still empty inside. I did not know Jesus or even know that I could have a personal relationship with Him. But Jesus set me free of my captivity by coming into my heart and saving me. That was more than twenty-five years ago and the Lord has remained faithful to me in every situation.
It’s my joy to serve the Lord, and humbling to think that as we give our lives to Him, He gives us as a gift to His Church. The Lord uses the talents and callings that He has placed in us to help His body, the Church, grow ”…unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ” Ephesians 4:13 .
